Coordination, Assessment and Planning in RCRC Operations (CAP)
CALL FOR APPLICATION

We are pleased to announce that we will be running a Coordination, Assessment and Planning (CAP) for RCRC operationstraining in Nepal, June 13th June 22nd, 2023.

We hereby invite you to nominate your candidates to participate in the training. There are only 35 seats for this training. We would like to remind all global applicants that only 20% of seats (6 seats) are for global participants, meaning 80% of seats go to the Asian Pacific region.

NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES AND SELECTION OF TRAINING PARTICIPANTS

  • This is an IFRC Surge training supported by the Australian Red Cross, British Red Cross and hosted by the Nepal Red Cross Society.

  • To accommodate last minute cancellations, we will select up to 40 participants, but only 35 will attend the training.

  • Details of the participants' expected profile can be found in the training flyer attached.

  • The list of pre-course requirements can be found in the attached document.

  • Please note that the training will be conducted in English.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • National Societies (not covering the cost of participation) applying through their IFRC Regional offices: IFRC RO will promote the opportunity in the region and invite candidates to submit application form. IFRC RO will select candidates from their respective Regions by shortlisting 2 applications by priority order (at least 50% of female candidates).

  • National Societies (covering the cost of participation): Please shortlist only 2 profiles by priority order (at least 50% of female who meet the criteria attached) from your National Society. Share application form to the application form with your selected candidates. At the end, please confirm the submission of your candidates to surge.learning@ifrc.org

  • IFRC, ICRC and others: Please apply directly using application form. Please note that seats for IFRC personnel are limited, as we must prioritize NSs.

  • Final participants list composition will be selected by the selection committee composed by IFRC Surge Asia Pacific and GVA and the supporting NS. We will take into consideration NS priority order, gender, sectorial balance, diversity and available funding.

  • Here is the application form.

DEADLINE FOR ALL APPLICANTS

The strict deadline for applications to be received by the Regional/Global Surge Team and organizing NS is March 3, 2023. The final selection of successful candidates will be announced no later than March 23, 2023. We hope that this will allow adequate time to arrange visas, airline tickets and complete pre-training assignments.

AVAILABILITY FOR DEPLOYMENT

Once confirmed the candidates’ selection, we will require a written commitment from both the participants and their line manager to guarantee that the selected participant will be available for deployment within the next 24 months. This is required to ensure that we can continue to build an effective available roster and able to respond immediately to crisis and disasters.

COSTS

Nominating National Societies and IFRC offices are expected to cover all participant costs.

The cost of the training in Nepal (accommodation, meals, transportation, training materials and others) will be cover with the training fees (1.500 CHF) to be paid by participants and/or the National Society directly to the IFRC thought the Bank Transfer. IFRC members can provide the Finance code to make the charge directly.

A number of scholarships will be available for those participants selected who would otherwise not be able to participate in the training.

We thank the Australian RC, British RC and Nepal Red Cross Society for hosting these learning events and are looking forward to receiving your applications by the indicated closing date.
